This image is a reference to Charlie Drake's 1961 song 'My Boomerang Won't Come Back'. Drake sings in a halting and staccato manner, wildy grunting 'ho' and 'ugh' as he narrates the story of an effeminate young Aboriginal boy named Mac, who has been banished from his tribe because he is ‘a big disgrace to the Aborigine [sic] race’ because his ‘boomerang won’t come back’. A single hand (Lisa Bellear's) reaches upward, grasping a bloody boomerang in front of a black background. Deacon suggests that Drake, whose song is at best a kind of vaudevillian blackface, has assassinated himself.
