In the presence of Jim Lambie’s Metal Box (Rio de Janeiro), 2019 we are transported to the rhythmic tango of the Copacabana, arriving at a tropical daydream of psychedelic and symphonic proportions. Part of Lambie’s iconic 'Metal Box’ series, influenced by colour theory and music, the metallic petals unfurl to reveal undulating sheets of brightly hued colours. The vivid palette of these works transforms the room in which they are displayed into a landscape of carnival colour.
